I am Research Fellow on the executive learning programme Boosting Resilience: Survival Skills for the New Normal, delivered in partnership among Cass Business School, The Culture Capital Exchange, and Manchester Metropolitan University,  with funding from Arts Council England.

I am collaborating with James Doeser on the project “Re-imagining Service Organizations: Decolonizing Canadian Dance” for the Canadian Dance Assembly.


I worked on the interim evaluation of the European Commission’s Creative Europe funding programme for the culture and audiovisual sectors across the EU-28 and served as lead consultant on the film distribution strand, with BOP ConsultingICF International, and Technopolis Group.*

I delivered a local cultural infrastructure assessment for the London Borough of Islington, with a focus on identifying cultural assets at risk.*

I contributed to a research project on creative development in young people with additional challenges as part of Creative Scotland‘s CashBack for Creativity programme.*

I developed a written guide to evaluating music education projects and worked as a grants assessor for the National Foundation for Youth Music.

I provided qualitative data analysis for the British Academy-funded book project Made to Worship: Performing Evangelical Congregations through Contemporary Worship Music (Oxford University Press, forthcoming).

I collaborated with colleagues at Beijing Normal University, Toynbee Hall, and the University of Worcester on a British Academy-funded research project on cross-cultural Chinese-Western couple relationships.

I have taught courses and supervised undergraduate research projects in popular music, film music, and musical theatre at the University of Cambridge, York University, and McGill University.

I have also produced music engraving for publication in several musicology books on university presses.
