Part of the global El Sistema movement, The Nucleo Project is a ‘music for social action programme’ offering open-access, ensemble-based musical opportunities to children and young people in North Kensington.
Following the recent growth of the organisation and its staff team, The Nucleo Project was keen to develop a more structured approach to evaluating the outcomes and impact of its work. I worked with the newly appointed senior leadership team to review and improve the organisation’s evaluation approach, including strengthening its Theory of Change, developing an evaluation framework that was fit for purpose to achieve its core evaluation objectives, and designing a suite of data collection tools for use with different age groups across its wide range of participants.
After completion of the evaluation design phasse, I provided critical friend support to the incoming Learning and Evaluation Manager on implementation of the new evaluation approach and embedding meaningful reporting structures and a culture of learning across the organanisation.
This project was delivered as an associate with Sound Connections.
